 Custom Profiles with Media Street Inks

All Printers benefit from a ICC Profile, colours are more accurate and prints exhibit more detail particularly in the shadow and highlights, a profile also allows you to take advantage of a wider range of colours that are out of range when printing without a profile. A custom profile performs a lot better than a generic profile since it is written specifically for your printer and paper combination.

These Profiles only work with Media Street Ink

You need to enter your invoice number from your order with Specialist Inks, only customers that have purchased Media Street inks directly from us can request free profiles.
Please note: For the profile to work you must be using Media Street inks, while this profile will greatly improve the colour reproduction and produce prints to a professional standard using this profile in conjunction with any other brand of ink will result in your prints being inaccurate.

After you have received your profile it is very important that you apply the correct settings in the printer ultility please review this short PDF document which contains basic printer settings and general information relating to using ICC profiles.

If Media Street have no profile in their extensive libraray please follow the directions below:

Below in the FILE ATTACHMENTS section are the 2 print target that I would need for you to print in order for us to create the Profiles for you. Right click on the link and hit "Save Target As".

When you open the files in Photoshop, please do not convert the images to your working space, please leave as is.

Prior to printing, can you run a Nozzle Check and an Alignment Utility to make sure your print heads are firing perfectly.

Before we get started creating the test prints make sure your colour space is correct:

Please make sure the Color settings are set with Adobe RGB 1998. This is in the Edit: color settings: Settings: Custom: Working Space:Adobe RGB 1998
CMYK: US web Coated (SWOP) v2
Gray: Dot Gain 20%
Spot: Dot Gain 20%

The target files are "landscape" please make sure to print in landscape and on 8.5" x 11" paper.

In the Print Dialogue Box:

Source Space = Document
Print Space = Same as Source

When you Print, please use the following in your Epson Print Driver:
Media Type = "Premium Gloss Photo Paper"
2880 dpi (Or Photo RPM)(if you choose to use 1440 dpi, please make sure to let us know)
Microweave or Edge Smoothing ON, Hi-speed OFF

**For R800/R1800/R2400 Users who want to use a Matte Paper you must select the following: This triggers the use of the Matte Black in the printer versus the Photo Black. For the R2400, if you are using the Matte Black cartridge.

Edge Smoothing ON, Hi-speed OFF

In CUSTOM setup: Turn color management to OFF or in some printers you have to select ICM and then "No Color Adjustment" needs to be checked.
