A minority of photographers that use the 2100 get small fine white perforated lines that run front to back as print rolls out, this normally happens on glossy media. The reason for this is that the 2100 was created with the feature to be able to print on CDs and DVDs, since this is liable to be of little use to the photographer it is better to disable this option and raise the wheels that cause the marks on the paper, this procedure is reversible should you ever wish to print CDs or DVDs, please follow the directions below.
Which Wheels?
Looking at a Birds eye view of the printer, you can see their are 12 wheels which have black rubber around the circumference. They are identified in the left picture by the white arrows. These are the largest wheels and they are solely used for CD printing. These are the wheels that need to raised.
• Put your finger into the printer (where the paper comes out) and lift the wheel (hold you finger until the wheel has been raised) - see "The Wheels" picture above
• With a knitting needle or scalpel blade (or thin object e.g. a thin coat hanger made into a hook shape) prick up the left side of the wheel so its above the metal panel as the picture on the right illustrates.
• Repeat this process for all 12 wheels
(Take care not to damage the film strip which is stretched across the printer above the platen rollers)
