Using the same tried and tested bulk system as the coloured inks, the Lyson continuous ink system for the 1290 small gamut ink set turns the 1290 printer into a fantastic daylight darkroom. Your monochrome prints will benefit from this stable ink set which exhibits smooth transitional gradients while allowing you to have total control over the hue of the print, no other ink set gives you this much control.

Lyson Small Gamut Refills - Epson 1290

Lyson Small Gamut Monochrome bulk inks are available in 125ml bottles, each bottle is equivalent to 12 conventional OEM cartridges.

Small Gamut
Each colour channel is replaced with a different density of grey, this effectively gives the printer 6 black channels. In our opinion the 1290 makes an excellent dedicated monochrome printer when used in conjunction with Lyson Small Gamut inks.

The Small Gamut inks are a combination of different shades of grey with a 30% dilution of colour, this unique formulation allows the photographer to create prints with either total colour neutrality or with an induced colour tone.
